A Scottish born artist living on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Leigh’s emerging creative practice and art dream is coming to fruition following a couple of big decisions. Leigh took a career break from the corporate world having spent over 15years working on IT and digital projects. She then seized the opportunity to travel Australia in a caravan for 12 months with her husband and two sons, during a global pandemic.
Responding to her time in the Australian great outdoors and the vibrant images Leigh feasted on as she travelled Australia, Leigh captures the flora, fauna and landscapes that filled her senses.
In 2018, Leigh donated an artwork to raise funds for #artforbales supporting drought affected rural Australian communities, the initiative raised over $80K. In 2021, Leigh donated to the ‘Incognito’ exhibition to raise funds for Studio A, an art studio supporting artists with intellectual disabilities.
Currently studying a Diploma in Visual Arts, Leigh’s art is constantly evolving. Leigh shares her art journey on #leighbinskinart and her current ‘Australian Adventure Series’ is on display at DiversARTy Gallery.
