The Splendour

This painting is a metaphor for life. At a glance the beautiful east coast of Australia is evoked with all its beauty, movement, azure water, foaming waves and brilliant skies. On another level we detect danger; whirlpools, harsh rocks and strong waves and possible rips that would be difficult to navigate. Amongst it all there are glistening safe pools with gorgeous reflections that we would love to explore and find safe harbour. The work has an immediate expressionist style with impasto technique.
